What is C.A.M.P.?

C.A.M.P. seeks to strengthen the camping industry and raise health and safety standards for all camps through the spirit of cooperation, collaboration, and collection of ideas. C.A.M.P. is an informal organization that is run by a volunteer board. We represent both non-profit and for-profit organizations, and welcome other camps and organizations to participate in our annual meetings, calls-for-action, and networking opportunities! We also pursue advocacy for our industry, and offer Legislative Memberships to camps that help fund our efforts at local and state levels.

What is the CAMPference?

The CAMPference is an annual conference (CAMP + annual conference = CAMPference) hosted by C.A.M.P., which stands for the Camping Association for Mutual Progress. Our organization was started in the late 1960s by a coalition of Texas summer camps that wanted to come together to share knowledge, develop community, and increase advocacy for the camping industry.

Where is the C.A.M.P. conference held?

The CAMPference this year will be December 12th - 14th at Horseshoe Bay Resort outside of Marble Falls, Texas. It’s a beautiful space that allows us to come together to connect, receive insight from great speakers, and also learn about products and services in our vendor exhibit hall.

Who attends the conference?

The event is attended by camps and conference centers across the state, with a few camps coming from out of state some years. Interns, Program Directors, Kitchen Managers, Camp Nurses, camp owners, board members, and other roles that serve in our industry have attended and regularly attend. We bring in nationally and locally recognized speakers to educate, energize, and inspire our membership to continue to provide the meaningful opportunities we pursue in camping. We also seek vendors that help us provide our services to those we serve, and have a great network of vendors for you to interact with.
